25th Annual Miatas At The Gap Part II
This section covers the second half of the event. It is a closer look at some of the conversations I had with Miata fans, the surroundings, license plates, and stickers.
Tidbits from the event:
A gentleman that is a Corvette owner accompanied his wife to the event. He wanted her to experience sports car ownership. She brought him to the event and he knows she is falling in love with the Miata and its capabilities.
A man drove late at night at around 2 a.m. during MATG to have the road all to himself but he was greeted by two cubs and their mother that was not welcoming toward Tapoco blocking the entire road. He decided to head back and call it a night.
Before I left on Sunday, it was told to me that about over 1000 people were in attendance that registered for the event.
Spoke with a gentleman that is a member of the ITB Miata group. It was great to hear him spend time with his dad and drive his Miata from Florida to the Tail with ITBs!
A woman with the most pristine NB I’ve witnessed in Crystal Blue plans to keep her Miata stock and OEM plus.
Ride your stock suspension and swap out the coilovers when you get to the event. This was an alternative for someone driving with their friends and girlfriend to maximize comfort during the long road trip.
일. SURROUNDINGS
You feel your place in the space as soon as you enter Tail of the Dragon. You begin to feel dwarfed by your surroundings especially with the trees, rocks, and elevation. The setting is the perfect backdrop for hosting the most sold sports car of all time. If there is anything I learned about this meet that is the most important thing is the horse and rider being united as one.

이. PLATES, PLATES & PLATES
I am a big fan of custom license plates. I could not help but notice the unique license plates from all over the United States down here in Fontana Village Resort. From the opposite sides of the country, California to New York. I even seen plates from the tri-state region from Connecticut along with New Jersey and other fellow New Yorkers. On a personal note, I can confirm that the black and yellow custom California license plate is the best one in the country followed by Oregon as runner-up.

삼. VINYL STICKERS
I look at the vinyl stickers that automotive tuners put into their respected vehicles equivalent to humans putting tattoos on our bodies. Are you in the school of thought that you only care for the aesthetics of a tattoo or does it need to have meaning?
