The weather is never on our side with Miata events planned by club members in our group. The first 5’s Day was rescheduled because of inclement weather. On the date of the rescheduled drive, it rained at the end of the night when we got to Times Square. This year there was also an unofficial 2nd 5’s Day event in May, which also encountered a rain delay. It was no different this time around with another big group meet planned, as it was 50-50 with showers in the late afternoon the date of the event. Kevin had to wait on the weather to clear to make a decision that day.

It is difficult to get different regions of Miata owners within NYC/NJ together due to one of three culprit’s that begin with the letter “t” and that is time, traffic, or tolls. It plays a factor in attendance. Despite the weather almost canceling our event, the show had to continue. We still had a good amount that came out from the groups such as Miatas of Brooklyn, Miata of Queens, Miata of NY, Long Island Miata, New Jersey Miata, and Little League Club.

A huge thank you to Kevin for working behind the scenes and connecting people from outside of the NYC groups that are NJ to Long Island to come to this Miata event in Brooklyn that is to unify the Miata roadster community in our backyard. Thanks to all those that made it.
