MIATAS OF LONG ISLAND 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY
I have been lucky to have my car for roughly the same time length as the age of this car club. Some of the earliest memories I have of going to Miata-related events were with this group. There have not been too many Miata groups that have come out of NYC, Gotham City Roadsters, now defunct and the NYC Miata group are two that were prominent before my time of owning a Miata and being submersed in the culture. The group is easily accessible and many members are willing to help each other out. It’s always great to be a part of your local car community. You get to see the trends specific to your region. One thing that made me happy to see was that everyone’s focus was on the driving experience within their builds.
Fast forward to the present time and here we are celebrating roadster culture on Long Island. The club founder is Stacey Gensch. She focuses a lot on meets that interest the driver in mind. Usually, the meets include food and a drive through a beautiful background out in Long Island in an area which I do not know much about or have been. It is always a treat to drive out to her events. She works very hard to ensure that members have a good time and do Miata things which are enjoying the drive. Thanks again and here is to many more meets!
