This past Saturday on the 15th, Miatas of Long Island hosted a meet and cruise event. The event would have us driving through an undisclosed road through the Nassau and Suffolk county area. The event would have us meet, eat and drive. A special thank you goes out to Stacey for constantly planning and hosting all these events for Miata owners not just in Long Island but throughout all of NYC.

The day was beautiful. It was clear, with a crisp cool breeze that set the vibes up for a mellow afternoon to get away from the traffic and enjoy open-top driving. Upon entering the highway, I was greeted by another Miata owner, Mario in his newly acquired white NA. From then on out, I decided to just roll with him until we got to the meet. It’s always fun encountering a Miata on the road, especially one that is modified and you know the person.

It was unexpected by those that attended that a Ford GT-40 would be in the event. We were in for a huge surprise and a treat. As it pulled in time suddenly stopped and many of us were in awe as the GT-40 glided in slow motion to where it would park. Everyone gathered to appreciate the beauty and importance of the car in automotive history.

After everyone gathered at the meetup location, we would then be stopping at the midway point just to make sure everyone was together in the group. Once everything was settled we would make our last stop to eat pizza and until next time…
